The Beekeeper Sri Lanka is an eight-room luxury rehabilitation and retreat centre set atop eight private acres in Pasyala, Sri Lanka, surrounded by lush jungle and plantation. Combining modern comfort with 1930s aristocratic architecture, the main house features high-ceilinged drawing rooms, an open courtyard, and sun terraces, creating a serene environment ideal for introspection and recovery. Accommodations include secluded cottages and elegant suites, offering tranquil views and luxurious amenities.
Designed to support holistic healing, the centre integrates mindfulness practices inspired by Buddhist traditions, art therapy, and physical activities such as yoga and hiking. The expansive gardens and private verandas provide the perfect backdrop for rest and renewal, complementing comprehensive therapeutic programs for mental health and addiction recovery.
The Beekeeper Sri Lanka’s main house and grounds offers a range of amenities designed for comfort and relaxation, including a fully equipped gym, a spacious dining area, and cosy lounges. Guests can also enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lookout shala, which provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape. These spaces, combined with the property’s expansive gardens, create a serene environment conducive to recovery and reflection.
Two public lounge areas in the main house serve as a space for teaching sessions, while also fostering social interaction and support among residents. This communal environment plays a key role in recovery, allowing individuals to share experiences and encourage one another, helping to build a sense of community throughout the process.
The dining area provides residents with an opportunity to engage in meaningful social interactions during meals, fostering a sense of community and mutual support. It also plays a key role in promoting healthy eating habits and offering nutritional education, which are essential for recovery and overall well-being. This structured setting helps reinforce the importance of balanced nutrition in the healing process.
The Lookout Shala is a serene, purpose-built space for yoga and meditation, situated at the lowest corner of the property. It offers stunning views down into the valley and towards Colombo, creating an ideal environment for reflection and mindfulness. On the ground floor of the same building, you'll find the spa and treatment rooms, offering a tranquil setting for rejuvenation and wellness treatments.
Physical fitness plays a vital role in rehabilitation and recovery at our centre. Our gym is fully equipped with everything needed to support your fitness journey. On request, our Physical Trainer will create a customised training routine, setting achievable goals to help you reach your physical potential and enhance your overall wellness.
Our spa and treatment facility, located just a short distance from the main house at The Lookout Shala, offers a peaceful retreat designed to soothe both body and mind. Expert therapists provide a variety of massage and beauty treatments, creating a restorative experience that enhances relaxation and supports overall wellness.
At the bottom of the gently sloping lawn below the main house lies a beautiful 60-foot swimming pool, offering a peaceful retreat. Private cabanas line one side of the pool, providing shaded comfort and privacy. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the jungle, cascading down the hillside, creating a serene, secluded atmosphere.
The Beekeeper is part of a larger network of regional mental health and wellness organisations. In addition to our rehabilitation services, we own or co-own several companies that specialise in holistic wellbeing, with a particular focus on Yoga and other holistic practices.

Our admissions team will support you throughout the process of planning your journey to Sri Lanka, working closely with you and anyone assisting you. The steps include an initial assessment, followed by confirming your stay at The Beekeeper Sri Lanka. While you’ll handle your travel arrangements, we’ll provide guidance and assistance at every stage. Upon your arrival in Sri Lanka, our team will welcome you at the airport and escort you to the facility. Once there, you’ll undergo a comprehensive medical evaluation, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as well as a detailed assessment to tailor your treatment plan.
Our program requires a minimum stay of 35 days, as this duration has proven essential for achieving meaningful change. However, we understand that individual circumstances may call for adjustments. For more details, please speak with our admissions team.
Our centre offers treatment in the mid to upper range for the region. While we occasionally offer promotional discounts, it’s important to note that we are an accredited rehab with world-class facilities and expert staff. We are dedicated to providing our clients with the full value of their investment, ensuring that no corners are cut in the quality of our services. For more detailed information, feel free to contact us directly.
During the initial assessment, you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions about our services or other concerns, while we assess your specific treatment needs. This discovery call is complimentary. If, after the discussion, we feel that we may not be the best fit for you, we will gladly assist with a referral to the appropriate service.
Mindfulness, yoga, and meditation are among the most researched and effective alternative treatments, with strong evidence supporting their impact. A meta-analysis showed that mindfulness practices reduced cravings and improved abstinence rates for substance use at levels comparable to many evidence-based methods. We integrate these practices with clinical psychology and modern medicine to create a comprehensive approach, leading to powerful outcomes for our clients.
Before your journey to Sri Lanka, our admissions team will thoroughly guide you on all necessary documentation, including visa requirements, to ensure a seamless arrival.
Sri Lanka provides a serene and supportive environment for healing, with its warm climate, rich cultural heritage, historic temples, scenic nature trails, and pristine beaches. Our services combine exceptional quality with affordability, offering care at lower costs than in the US, Europe, New Zealand, or Australia. This is made possible by reduced operational expenses, allowing us to pass on the savings without compromising on excellence.
We work with most insurance providers and are happy to assist in the process. Typically, you will need a “letter of guarantee,” which is a document from your insurer confirming the coverage amount, any client co-payment, and other terms. However, an initial deposit is required to secure your place with us. Our admissions team will guide you through this process and provide advice on accessing your superannuation if needed.
The Beekeeper Sri Lanka is part of a broader regional network of mental health and wellness companies that have successfully supported hundreds of clients over the years. We also own or have stakes in several wellbeing companies specialising in Yoga and Holistic Practices. This allows us to draw on extensive experience from our team across multiple locations, enhancing the quality of care we provide.
The weather in Sri Lanka is tropical, warm, and often humid, with cooler nights, particularly in the hills where our centre is located. Due to the elevation, it can be a bit chillier than other areas, so it’s wise to pack for cooler evenings as well as warm days. While dressing for the climate is essential, it’s equally important to respect Sri Lanka’s more conservative culture when outside the centre. For example, shoulders and knees should be covered when visiting temples.
