Our Residential Rehab Programme at The Beekeeper Sri Lanka offers a comprehensive treatment experience for individuals facing substance use disorders or mental health conditions. Clients reside at the centre for weeks or months, focusing solely on their recovery in a supportive, healing environment. This programme provides a structured daily schedule filled with therapeutic activities, fostering personal growth and the development of healthy coping strategies.
During your stay, you’ll be guided through individual and group therapy sessions, and receive extensive medical, mental health, and spiritual support. The programme is designed not only to help you overcome addiction but also to manage chronic mental health conditions. Active participation is essential, as clients are expected to engage fully in therapy and treatment activities to achieve lasting recovery and well-being.
Restoration
To create a transformative healing journey, it’s essential to recognize how your body, mind, and spirit may require restoration. The Beekeeper Sri Lanka’s residential rehab program is designed to support you in this process, concentrating on six key areas:
A core component of our residential rehab program is guiding you on how to nurture your body. You will have the opportunity to work closely with The Beekeeper’s award-winning chef, who is also a trained nutritionist. Not only will they create a carefully crafted menu, but they will also offer dietary guidance to ensure you receive the best nutrition throughout your stay. Conscious eating plays a crucial role in early recovery, helping you reconnect with and value your body. The meals at The Beekeeper are thoughtfully prepared and served in this spirit.
At The Beekeeper, we offer a diverse range of recreational activities designed to restore both body and spirit. From yoga and cycling to mountain hikes and gym training, these activities encourage you to reconnect with your body and its potential. Additionally, nature walks and excursions allow you to immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding area, offering a peaceful and rejuvenating experience.
Some of our on-site activities include:
True to our foundations, The Beekeeper’s recovery programme emphasizes the importance of meditation. We guide our clients in developing a practice that allows them to feel at ease in various environments, whether seated in lotus position on a mountainside or walking mindfully through our tranquil gardens. This diverse approach helps foster inner peace and deepens the restorative experience.
Nature is a universal healer, offering profound benefits for conditions like addiction, anxiety, and more. Addiction often leads to a disconnect from the world around us, preventing us from living in the present moment. However, spending time immersed in nature—whether in forests, by rivers, or listening to the sounds of wildlife—helps restore that vital connection. At The Beekeeper, your residential treatment will provide ample opportunities to reconnect with nature, allowing you to experience its calming, grounding effects as part of your healing journey.
While recognizing the impact addiction has had on your life and those around you is crucial, a core focus of your treatment at The Beekeeper is rediscovering your inner strengths. Addiction often clouds self-worth and spiritual growth, preventing you from recognizing your true potential. Throughout your residential treatment, you will gain a deeper understanding of your personal strengths, learning how to harness them effectively in your daily life to foster long-term recovery and a more fulfilling future.
During your treatment at The Beekeeper, you will learn to recognize and address addictive behaviours, predict their consequences, and develop strategies to minimise their effects while repairing any harm they may have caused. Expect to experience both significant and smaller victories, each of which contributes to building your self-efficacy—the belief in your ability to take control of your life. Research has demonstrated that developing self-efficacy is vital for a successful recovery, and it is a key focus of your program here.
All of our methods are rooted in evidence-based practices, ensuring that you receive the most effective and scientifically supported care.
Beekeeper®
Therapy is a cornerstone of your recovery journey at The Beekeeper. It is through therapy that you will build trust and collaboration with your therapist, creating a safe space to explore and understand the thought patterns and behaviours that contribute to harmful habits. This process allows for increased self-awareness, fosters accountability, and empowers you to make positive changes for healthier outcomes.
At The Beekeeper, we take an eclectic approach to therapy, integrating elements from a variety of therapeutic models that are recognized as best practices in the field. These include psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), somatic therapy, and other evidence-based approaches. All our therapeutic work is rooted in compassion, empathy, and evidence-based techniques.
Our therapists take a thematic approach in group therapy, with each series of sessions focused on specific topics, such as relapse prevention, self-compassion, or diversity and inclusion. This allows clients to receive relevant, practical feedback that connects directly to their experiences.
The therapy modalities used at The Beekeeper are informed by both leading mental health research and time-honoured Eastern practices of mindfulness, self-awareness, and cognitive insight. These approaches have proven to be effective in supporting long-term recovery from co-occurring disorders and improving overall functioning for clients.
Each client at The Beekeeper is paired with a fully qualified therapist who is dedicated to supporting them throughout their stay. You can expect to have a minimum of two therapy sessions per week, ensuring that you receive the consistent, focused care needed to achieve meaningful progress and lasting results.
We have designed a personalised program that includes managed and facilitated group sessions, with a strong focus on fostering a safe and supportive environment for all participants. This ensures that each individual can engage fully and benefit from the collective healing process.
If you and your therapist determine that involving your family in your treatment and recovery would be beneficial, we can arrange and coordinate these sessions for you, ensuring a supportive and collaborative approach to healing.
If you and your therapist agree that involving your partner or spouse in your treatment and recovery would be beneficial, we can facilitate and coordinate these sessions to ensure a supportive and collaborative healing process.
These class-based sessions have been thoughtfully designed by our skilled clinical team, offering a diverse range of topics and approaches to ensure the most effective outcomes for our clients.
We place a strong focus on equipping clients with effective and varied strategies for relapse prevention. To support this, we have created an in-depth programme tailored specifically to address this crucial aspect of recovery.
We are committed to empowering our clients with knowledge, including helping them develop a deeper understanding of mental health challenges and teaching them various effective approaches to address these issues.
By collaborating closely with our clients, we ensure they are fully prepared for the next steps in their treatment journey. We equip them with a variety of effective planning skills to support their ongoing recovery and well-being.
